About bikefix

Everyone needs a reliable bike shop that they know they will be able to pop into if they have anything from a niggling problem to a major overhaul. This shop should be on hand if something has happened to their bike and it’s beyond their own abilities to get it sorted. Ideally they will be able to go in and know the staff by name, safe in the knowledge that they won’t be patronised or told they can’t help.

If you are looking for such a place, then Bikefix might just be for you.

Bikefix is a cracking little bike shop in Bloomsbury. Staffed by experts in the industry, it caters for all types of riders from commuters to recumbent cyclists and everyone in between. By their own admission, it is the kind of place where people often go to when other options are exhausted – they are willing to try different things in order to repair or customise bikes.

The shop is located on Lamb’s Conduit Street, where a loyal customer base has been developed. The fact that people are willing to go back to them time and again demonstrates how good a shop Bikefix is. They are a really friendly outfit and if you are confused about what bottom bracket to have fitted for example, they will be able to offer clear advice and install a BB with new chainset, all at an affordable price.

If you are thinking of getting a recumbent bike, then Bikefix is one of the best places to go. They have extensive knowledge and contacts in the recumbent world, indeed recumbent enthusiast and London cycling mainstay Patrick Field often works at the shop. He also runs maintenance courses, something that I would recommend any cyclist should do in order to be able to deal with common mechanical problems.

bikefix in their own words

It’s not about the bike. It’s about the experience.

A bike can change your conception of the world. It needs to be functional, It also needs to fit your lifestyle and aspirations. To choose your bike, your shoes, you need to feel comfortable at home on your chosen machine.

But when you’re ready to try things out for yourself. Come and see us.

We probably have more experience in bike servicing than anyone else around, and we really love to take a well used bike and restore it to perfection. Our workshop does frame repairs, hub gear maintanance, wheelbuilding and complete customisation as well as simple jobs like punctures. We quote prices in advance and we do most jobs the same day.

When you drop off your bike we will give you an estimated price and collection time. We work on all types of bike, old and new and have a lot of spare parts including obsolete and hard to find items. We do loads of work on Bromptons and we love to service recumbents.

Theres no need to book; bikes can be dropped off and collected from 8.30 in the morning until 7 in the evening.
