Lower The Bike Onto The Wheel
Step 1
Put the chain onto the fastest sprocket and watch the axle into the slots on each side where it fits. The weight of the bike will help you get the wheel in exactly the right place.
Check The Position
Step 2
With your head on the bike’s centreline check the wheel is centred in the frame.
Tighten The Fixings
Step 3
Rotate the handle through 180 degrees from the open position to the closed position. Close the brakes and check they’re working well.
Pro Tip
For security reasons a quick release may be replaced with a skewer that needs a hexagonal key, or a unique tool, to lock it. The connection through a hollow axle means that both sides tighten together. Pack the tool with your puncture tools.
