Close A Cantilever Brake

Introduction

It is easy to close a cantilever brake after the wheel has been re-attached

Step 1

<h3>Step 1</h3><p>Check the outer-cable of the cantilever brake is seated in the lever and all stops.</p>

Step 2

<h3>Step 2</h3><p>Mount the straddle cable in yoke and use it to pull the arm it’s clamped in towards you and ‘ON’.

Mount the straddle cable in yoke and use it to pull the arm it’s clamped in towards you and ‘ON’.

Step 3

<h3>Step 3</h3><p>Slip the straddle wire into it’s slot and hook the nipple in the free cantilever brake arm.
</p>

Hook

Slip the straddle wire into it’s slot and hook the nipple in the free cantilever brake arm.

Step 4

<h3>Step 4</h3><p>Pull the cantilever brake lever hard to centre the yoke.
</p>

Centre

Pull the cantilever brake lever hard to centre the yoke.

Step 5

<h3>Step 5</h3><p>Check the cantilever brake by applying it and releasing it
